The plugin Yoast and Rank Math forgot to build
Yoast tells you a meta description is missing. Rank Math gives it a green dot. Neither writes it for you — and neither knows whether ChatGPT cites your page.
The CapstonAI WordPress plugin closes that gap. It scans your site, generates titles, descriptions and alt text in batch, compresses images to WebP, and measures whether AI engines actually surface your pages. All from inside WordPress, with human approval before anything ships live.
Who this plugin is for
- Content-heavy WordPress sites — magazines, publishers, association sites with 500+ posts where 80% have stale or empty meta.
- WooCommerce catalogs — 200 to 50,000 SKUs where every product needs a unique meta description, an alt text per image, and a WebP variant.
- Local & multi-site brands — hotel groups, healthcare networks, franchise chains running WordPress Multisite or 10+ separate installs that need one shared standard.
- Agencies & integrators — teams shipping audits and fixes for 20+ client sites without adding headcount.
The real problem in 2026
Search and AI engines now decide visibility on signals that classic SEO plugins do not measure or fix:
- Yoast and Rank Math report what is missing. They do not generate the content.
- Bulk title/description editing in vanilla WordPress is one row at a time.
- Alt text is the most-skipped on-page field — 78% of WordPress images are published without one (Ahrefs Site Audit benchmark, 2025).
- WebP cuts image weight by an average of 26% vs JPEG (Google Web.dev), but most WordPress sites still serve PNG/JPEG to AI crawlers and humans alike.
- None of the existing SEO plugins answer the only question that matters in 2026: does ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overview cite my page when someone asks about my category?
The manual workflow (what teams do today)
- Export 800 URLs to a spreadsheet.
- Audit titles and meta one by one, often in a second tab.
- Send a Google Doc to a copywriter for rewriting.
- Paste back into WordPress, post by post, hoping nobody breaks the slug.
- Open Photoshop or TinyPNG to compress 4,000 product images.
- Add alt text in the Media Library, image by image.
- Wait for someone to remember to check Google Search Console.
- Never check ChatGPT or Perplexity at all.
Average time for a 500-page site: 3 to 5 weeks of mixed copywriter, dev and SEO time. We measured it with three customers between January and April 2026.
The CapstonAI workflow inside WordPress
| Task | Manual time (500 pages) | With CapstonAI plugin |
|---|---|---|
| Generate missing meta titles | ~25 hours | ~12 minutes batch + 30 min review |
| Generate missing meta descriptions | ~30 hours | ~15 minutes batch + 45 min review |
| Generate missing image alt text (4,000 images) | ~50 hours | ~40 minutes batch + 1h review |
| Convert PNG/JPEG to WebP | ~10 hours | ~25 minutes background job |
| Measure AI citation share (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) | Not done | Weekly automated report |
What the plugin does, concretely
1. Bulk meta titles & descriptions
Select 50, 500 or 5,000 pages. The plugin reads the actual content, generates a meta title under 60 characters and a description under 155, and queues them for human approval. You accept, edit or reject in one screen. Compatible with Rank Math, Yoast and AIOSEO meta fields.
2. Bulk alt text generation
Reads every image in the Media Library that has no alt, looks at the surrounding context (post title, caption, page H1), and writes accessible, descriptive alt text. Skips decorative images automatically.
3. WebP & image optimization
Converts PNG and JPEG to WebP, keeps the original as fallback, and serves the right format per browser. Average page weight drop measured on customer sites: −34% on product pages, −41% on blog posts.
4. AI visibility measurement
Connects to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. Tracks whether your pages are cited when prompts match your category, brand and key questions. Weekly score, per page, with the prompt that triggered each citation.
5. Schema & structured data audit
Detects missing FAQ, HowTo, Product, Article and Organization schema. Generates and injects them via WPCode or directly in the post.
6. Human-in-the-loop, always
Nothing ships live without a click. Every batch produces a diff. You approve, undo or roll back per item or per batch.
How it compares to Yoast, Rank Math and AIOSEO
| Capability | Yoast Premium | Rank Math Pro | AIOSEO Pro | CapstonAI |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Detect missing meta | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Generate meta in batch | No | Per-page AI assist | Per-page AI assist | Bulk batch + queue |
| Generate alt text in batch | No | No | No | Yes |
| WebP conversion | No | No | No | Yes |
| AI citation tracking (ChatGPT, Perplexity) | No | No | No | Yes |
| Multisite support | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Diff-and-rollback per batch | No | No | No | Yes |
The honest read: keep Yoast or Rank Math for the on-page checks they do well. Add CapstonAI for the production work and AI visibility tracking they do not do.
Real numbers from real WordPress sites

FAQ
Does this replace Yoast or Rank Math?
No. It complements them. Keep your existing SEO plugin for on-page checks. CapstonAI handles the work they do not do: bulk generation, alt text, WebP, and AI citation tracking.
Will it overwrite my existing meta titles?
Never automatically. Every change goes through a human approval queue. You see the old version, the proposed version, and you accept, edit or reject.
How does pricing work?
Per-site monthly subscription based on URL volume. See pricing.
Does it support WooCommerce product variations?
Yes. Variations inherit the parent product context and get unique meta when needed.
Can I use it on a staging site first?
Yes. The API key works on any domain registered in your account. Sandbox dry runs do not push to production.
What about GDPR and data residency?
EU-hosted infrastructure available. Page content is processed in-flight, not stored beyond the active job. Full DPA on request.
How do you measure AI citations?
We run a panel of prompts (yours + category defaults) against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude on a weekly schedule. We log which URLs each engine cites, when and for which prompt. You see the trend per page.
